Racing irl costs a lot of money that’s why people sim race. Because it’s affordable for the average person and it’s fun. Sure I’ve never driven a gt3 car but there are actual gt3 drivers who sim race and claim the cars physics in the sim are very similar and believable to the real thing save for G-forces obviously and that’s good ...

When you hop in the sim, you drive it, you go off, and you say "Damn the sim, this isn't real!" But if you look at the playback, you're going into it at 65mph. That's not realistic. The problem is you don't have the same sense of speed, and you've over-driven the car. Most people jump into a sim, try to go fast, and immediately go off.

I want to get back into racing games (again, specifically sims), but I need some help. I've tried playing Burnout 3, but the AI is not aggressive enough in the Race mode. I did try Road Rage (the AI is a little more aggressive, fortunately) and it did help with my boredom for racing games a little bit, but I still feel it's not enough.-----

To be fair to the sim makers, a lot of racing cars nowadays are not hard to drive. They are very hard to drive fast though. I think the sim reflects that. Project cars 2 is a good around sim-cade. Some of the cars are good simulations others aren't. But it's easy to get your head around to get started. Assetto Corsa is the best SIM I've played and continues to be my go to for racing and hot laps. More of an all around experience some cars are really easy to drive.
