    Honored as one of the best drivers in NASCAR history, Flock starred in the Lingner Group Television Productions' series "NASCAR: The Fifty," in which he described the great drama of the sport's early years. Flock died of cancer at age 73 on March 31, 1998, just as the series aired. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Francis, and five children.
