Something broke the bottom brace. They are generally well made. Usually, the culprit there is an uneven placement of the tank. As the pressure Nyleve spoke of shifts the shape of a not level tank, the silicone allows the glass to move. The frame should stop that, but it can snap. And so, your tank is no longer square.
