    Average velocity made good, meaning speed when I was on the river, was about 7.5 mph. This is going downstream!! I finished 14th men's solo 2010 and 10th men's solo 2011 in an expedition canoe, single blade. I'm not sure how much faster the guys were, those who beat me. For sure, they spent less time on shore, more time paddling.
