    Located in Montmeló, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya was inaugurated on 10 September 1991. It was a project driven by the Catalan Government, the Royal Automobile Club of Catalonia and the Montmeló Town Council. The circuit hosted the first race only five days after the inauguration.
