The Connecting Highway is actually a short stretch of roadway that connects the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway to the Grand Central Parkway in Queens, New York.     The hwy which you got onto from the e/b grand central after the Triboro Bridge was below grade, hundreds of people used to stand by the rail about 50 feet high and watch the drag racing on Fri & Sat nights. The 114 used to open the hydrants on the street and the water that flowed down to the hwy would end the racing.

    Connecting Highway was a section of the Brooklyn-Queens expressway that had the service road elevated above the highway, making for incredible street race spectating.
