The Showdown Points award system is based on the RP system. You can gain between 4 and 115 SP on a single race. The base system gives you 20 SP for a win and 4 SP for a lose. With all the available boosts, which are: Car Boost - In every Showdown there will be certain cars that will give you a 100% extra SP.

When they put you in a lobby versus equal or harder opponents you will start gaining huge RP numbers, but you risk losing more races. The more you risk, the more you gain. Racing "Legendary" players doesn't help but after a while you learn to pick out the high rp racers. I prefer to race 5 star cars for higher RP.

The annoying thing now is you lose more trophies for a loss than you get for a win. The fkrs at NM noticed that players could quit a race if placed with a mod and avoid losing any trophies. So (for their fk up) they punish us for it. I have the same shit you do though I have to race about 4 to 5 races before my SP adds up.
