Drill a hole for a bolt or pin that goes into the hole on the side of the end cap. Weld two handles on the collar and twist to take apart. You will need to make some aluminum sleeves or collars to clamp the TOP (welded cap end) of the shock can in a vise so it doesn't turn or damage the can.
