    The winner is based on the highest point total, so a boat NOT sailing in a race of the series (DNS) gets 0 points. A boat that is DNF or RAF gets 5 points, and a DFL boat gets 10.5. For many of the series, if you are DSQ you get 0 points PLUS you are unable to drop that score if you have sailed more than the number of races it takes to score a series.
