I’d say a gyro in a RWD car is more like making it possible to drive rather than making it easy. You will still find yourself spun out, in the pipe and pointing the wrong direction plenty until you get the hang of it. In the RWD drift arena I feel that all cars should be equipped with a gyro. (mainly because I have tried to drive one without)

Gyro (cheating?) The Dbox for hpi's micro rs4 stage D racer is supposed to allow the car to over steer. Would this work if you use a micro heli gyro though? Just wondering because although I love drifiting with my big block in my micro rs4; imagine how a mamba would do. This would mean a whole lot quicker drifts and easier XD.

Location:North Carolina. Posted February 10, 2018. One thing to keep in mind - if you do buy and mount a gyro on your car, it's a good idea to use some vibration dampening foam/tape with it. These gyros are constructed internally using MEMS technology, and it's easy to overload the sensor with shocks and vibration.

After a 8 year pause in the hobby, In 2008 I got a foamie Electric (Sapac Extra 330L foamie). It did not do well in the wind being so light. I placed a spare GWS rate gyro that I had on it and voila, very stable in the winds. Here is a link: Gyro on a Foamy Electric Sapac 330L (4 min 24 sec) YouTube. Blueray450.
