The higher the octane, the harder it is for the fuel to ignite. The only time you will see a cylinder temp. drop is when you run a richer mixture or have a better than stock cooling system. In general terms...the more fuel you put in it, the cooler it runs, NOT the more OCTANE. The stoich level of race fuel is also a little different though.

Conversely, many older air-cooled engines tend to pink a bit when very hot, such as after sitting in traffic for a while. Using a higher octane fuel can reduce or eliminate this tendency, not because the engine runs cooler but because the fuel is better able to resist the effects of the high temperature. No it honestly does nothing, higher octane gas doesnt do a thing unless you moddify your quad with upgraded cam, piston, ect where you bump up the timing to compensate for those mods then it calls for 93+ octane fuel or even alcohol fuel.

Are high-octane fuels more stable? | Fuel Facts | Articles

    https://classicmotorsports.com/articles/are-high-octane-fuels-more-stable/
Higher-octane fuels are more resistant to engine knock than the lower-octane options. This is why most high-performance engines require higher-octane fuels–in the simplest of terms, these fuels are more compatible with increased cylinder pressures, whether they’re due to compression ratio, engine speed or boost pressure.

Octane does not offer any better fuel mileage, increase engine horsepower, or make the engine start quicker. Higher octane only reduces the likelihood of engine knock or ping. On modern computer-controlled cars with fuel injection, the computer is constantly monitoring fuel trim and detonation and making appropriate adjustments in the timing and fuel air mixture …
