The breeder tells me this is an ash-red dominant opal, but it looks like recessive opal (red phase) on an ash-red bird to me. The ash-red dominant opal on Ron Huntley's website does not have blue on the head and neck. Could I have some of the experts' opinions please? ;-)

Recessive Opal Racing Pigeon Collection I’m so very fortunate that this recessive color has popped up in my racing homers. Dominant Opal (OD) Tom Barnharts spread opal Dominant Opal (Od) is a dominant autosome, thus its name. Recessive Opal (o), as its name indicates, is a recessive autosome. Of the two, only Dominant Opal in the homozygous form (Od//Od) is lethal. That is, when a bird receives a copy of this gene from both parents it becomes the kiss of death.
