Whatever coolant temp you have, you want oil temp at least 220 to boil off water and acids. Head temps can be 300 F. degrees without problems. Air cooled two strokes get pretty warm. Ideally, you want intake air cold, head temp hot so as not to absorb combustion heat. More criteria that is hard to meet. It is a heat engine, made to run hot.
