My Camaro with Chevy V-6 @ 3185 lbs saw .10 between 1.76 & 1.98 Powerglides. Same case, only changed the planetary & the other parts to go to the lighter 6 cyl planetary w 1.98 gear set. The 1.96 is built on the 1.76 style carrier and quite a bit heavier than the 1.98 setup.
