They're finish in the pin bores look as though they were just cut and not truly FINISHED. They actually have a ROUGH crosshatch instead of a polished (fluid honed) finish. I haven't accurately measured them for clearance yet but I can say if you turn the piston to the side, the pin falls out as if you were dumping it out of a cup!!

Now as far as D.S.S goes I only have one expierence with them. I had a customer bring me his 94 Cobra that was having issues on a low mile DSS Pro Comp 306, the tolerances were all over the place and the align hone looked like it had been done with a dull spoon.

The DSS pistons made a name in the SBF days, but have no info on how good their LS stuff is. Mahle is also good and lots of people run them. It's what fits your budget. I like wisecos also, always hearing good things about them. They have a flat top in 4.00" bore and 4.005" to suit stock stroke and std rods.

the guy is buying those pistons off shore, if you look at the sellers id you will see it is dssracing. he named the pistons dss. the rockers he has for sale are pro-comp. i would pass on those pistons. srp pistons can be had for 439.00 a set, with pins and locks and 1/16 ring package. sam-missle Save Reply D Double_v23 Horsepower Enthusiast

When we weighed the new DSS pistons with new forged I-beams and compared them to the stock piston and rod combo the DSS set came in 4 grams lighter. I mainly run Probe pistons in our push rod motors. The windsor thats on the stand now with Probe pistons and H-beam rods weighed well over 200 grams less the stock set up.
