    Eddie Newcombe of Malta; I was very sad to hear the passing of the ‘Great’ Eddie today Thursday 2nd March 2017. He was without doubt one of the greatest fanciers to grace the pigeon sport in Scotland if not the UK as well as in Malta.     In 1980 Eddie Won the last channel race (Avaranches or Sartilly possibly). He took 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 9th 12th & 13th Open, not bad going considering there was a 12 Bird limit on the Race. As for feeding he used to use 'sweepings' from a Biscuit factory, which included amongst other things peanuts and chocolate chips!
