I noticed some footbrakers set launch rpm once pre-staged or sometimes even earlier while approaching the beams. So I tried it out the last couple races and while it does slow the process down, bumping in while on the converter with a BBF that puts down some torque is not that easy. Put better brakes on the same car and you may be able to stall it up to 2500 RPM before it starts to creep forward. With a strong engine, 5500+ stall and great brakes, you would be able to stall much higher. But still at some point the converter will begin to lock up and the brakes will no longer hold.

You're barely above idle, that means that once you release the brake and nail the gas, your car has to wind up and shock the tires to move forward. the best way to leave on the foot brake is have the car preloaded, with as much as you can hold with the brakes, this way the car is already to leave when you release the brake.
