    If I remember correctly, Dart block all the way. The ford block has short (or shallow) cylinder walls. Assuming you build a stroker, your pistons will be more likely to rock around at the bottom of the stroke. Anyways, this is just memory.

    dart blocks are an excelent choice. the R302 block is a nice piece. the r302 is not machined as well. the dart block can be bored bigger and also is more of a race piece with 4 bolt mains on all 5 main caps (if u get the iron eagle its only like 300-400 more than the sportsman). my vote is with the dart block

    There's blocks with 4 bolt mains on just #2, 3, and 4 but only 2 bolts on the #1 and #5 mains, I think the Ford block is like that. The stronger blocks have 4 bolt mains on all 5 mains, that's just one difference to look for.     The FRPP block has shorter cylinders, and there are issues with pulling the piston out too far at BDC. The Dart SHP block is essentially the same as the Sportsman block in terms of strength. I don't think you'd break one with 1000 hp. I would skip the 347 and go for the big bore option...4.125 x 3.400 is a 363. More cubes. More power.
