The Fortin is based off the Hewland DG300 (70's, 80's) and the Albins from late 80's, early 90's Porsches, so the technology (forks, etc) is a little bit newer in the Albins. The ring & pinion on the Albins is 11.5 inches to 10 on the Fortin. The gears are really wide in the Fortin but the dog-ring design is weaker.
