No offense but the fastest drag cars are rwd. When launched right there is no spinning of the tires. So depending on gearing rwd and awd is the closest. Fwd has no advantage in a standing start drag race unless it is geared better and that will only come into play in longer distances. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy SIII using Tapatalk 2 Modded Pathy

MR and RR vehicles have more weight in the rear, which might amount to as much as 40/60. Compared to something like 50/50, the 40/60 wins on a drag strip or 0-100-0 type of test. 40/60 has a lot of weight on the drive wheels during acceleration, and when stopping it has a more equal weight distribution on all tires. I'd imagine that the reason why AWD trails behind RWD in a straight drag race is because of the extra weight and complexity, and thus friction in the drivetrain eating up HP. Around a track I'd see the AWD car coming out ahead giving everything else is the same. FWD would be last. FWD is always last Depends on the race length.

At lower power levels (ie momentum cars, under 200 hp), there's honestly not a big difference between RWD and FWD, if the car's setup and driving are on point. That last part is key; all bets are off if the car isn't setup well or driven well, and FWD setup and driving both have some important differences from RWD.
