The last greyhound track to operate in Cumbria was the one at Lonsdale Park, situated in the coastal town of Workington. It was found just off the A596 half a mile north of Workington town centre on the banks of the River Derwent, next door to Workington Football Club’s present day ground.

The greyhound stadium in the Cumbrian town of Workington was on Lonsdale Park at the West Cumberland Stadium and situated at 3° 32' W 54° 38' N. It opened in the early 1930s and had a circumference of 440 yards. It operated as an independent track, running sprints over 320 yards, Standard races over 530 yards and distance races over 760 yards.
