I can tell you a 50/36 helix is just about the most efficient helix you can get for the Polaris CVT; transferring maximum power to the track. As tifa_5_2000 pointed out, using a helix that transfers less power to the track and helps with the spin/grip cycles (keeping the rpms up) at low speeds often works better in loose snow with stock or close to stock primary weights/spring.
