Usually the Mfg puts a cam in that has more torque at the lower end....as well as higher ratio sprockets. You don't want to off road at 8000 RPM... the Hnda factory manual lists the SL350 as having 18.1 Lb-ft of torque @ 8000 RPM (K0 and K2), and the CB350 as 15.5 lb-ft torque at 9500 RPM. (Both K0 and K4). Compression ratio is the same.
