Well, last night after a complete teardown after months of protesting against us we were told that our crank was disqualified for it not weighing 54lbs(stock weight per tech). Ours weighed 52lbs, with no calibration of scales to verify, and ultimately I had nothing to compare my weight versus any chevy STOCK crank's weight.

Depends on what you ask for when talking about stroker cranks. The counter balance is added for the increased throgh, and most aftermarket cranks will weigh more than the stock stuff as the stock stuff is pretty pathetic. The average 302 crank drops on the balancer with bob weight at about 30lbs.

stock z/28. Take this for what its worth but I have seen quite a bit of variation in "stock" 350 cranks, both cast and steel. If you dont have weights yet, let me know and I will try and get some for you. If it were me, I would also look at counter weight thickness/radius, if heavy metal has been added etc..

How much does an aftermarket FE crankshaft weigh?

2011-10-30T13:36. I think a stock one weighs around 70 lbs. If you wanted to build a quicker revving engine a lighter crank would be nice. A 3.98 stroke for instance with a 4.08-4.13 bore would work with a lot of induction systems up to 6000-6500 or so and with a significantly lighter crank rods and pistons would be pretty spry losing all of that parasitic weight.
