The season’s second USSA ice oval snowmobile racing series is the Ironwood Snowmobile Olympus. Ironwood Snowmobile Olympus at the Gogebic Country Fairgrounds has a long history 53 years with ups and downs. In Ontario, the Oshawa Competition Motorcycle Club has been a big driver behind ice racing, with a nine-race series. Out west, there’s plenty of serious competition. The CMA’s national championship is based in Alberta, and there are other strong races as well, including the infamous Numb Bum 24-hour endurance race.
