Commodore's Garage #11 - Sway/Anti-Roll Bars

    https://www.iracing.com/commodores-garage-11-swayanti-roll-bars/
Whenever we run the bar with different-length arms, we are using what’s known as “arm asymmetry” for our car. This is typically where, on a left-turning oval car, the right side arm is shorter than the left side arm.

Truck Project: Out on a High Note - iRacing.com

The problem lies in the nature of arm asymmetry itself, specifically with what happens when one wheel sees a bump while the other doesn’t. Asymmetry shortens one of the sway bar arms without changing the length of the other, meaning the two suspension systems (right and left-front) will act on the sway bar in different ways.

A Team of One - Phoenix International Raceway

Arm asymmetry seals the left front and creates a little downforce. If you are unfamiliar with the ARB or ARB arms take a look at this photo. Before you go on track to test an adjustment, set the truck arm pre-load to a positive number. Preferably close to 0.0. You don’t want any twisting force on the chassis when you want to roll the center.

To accomplish this, in addition to springs and control arm geometry, ARB arm geometry is today an integral part. As these cars are setup asymmetrically from side to side with suspension geometry, springs, shocks, tires and weight distribution on ovals it also probably comes as no surprise that ARBs can also be setup to work asymmetrically.

r/iRacing - What is the best way to lower ride heights …

Run max arm asymmetry to keep the lf pinned. AFAIK there's no real way to lower your ride height without affecting handling. Pre-loading the suspension effectively lowers your ride height. But as a consequence, your suspension is now stiffer and the car reacts more harshly to little bumps and dips in the track.

2.4: Ergonomics - Virtual Racing School (VRS)

Your wheel should be as close as possible. A way to measure is stretching your arms over the wheel. The top of the steering wheel should be at around the middle of your forearms, or at maximum your wrists. At first, this will seem just a bit too close, but try practice the new posture in the sim. For your elbows: you need to comfortably bend them.
