A cvt is a "gear less tranny"! Putting it in low, or o/d off will do nothing in racing....will not improve ur take off... L gear is just like leaving it in first gear. It will help you launching off a roll cause ur car won't down shift. Leaving o/d off will make you lunch from a roll at higher speeds but you won't rev to the limit it can go.
