    I own a J109, crew on a J105, and race on a regular basis against a couple of J35s in PHRF, so here goes... If your goal is to do a lot of one-design sailing and you have an established fleet of 105s in your area, then the 105 is a good option. It is underpowered in the light stuff, but if you are racing OD all the boats are, so you are even.
