The engine still feels quite lethargic under 2800 r/min. I am still using the stock air system, but I've ordered an intake, so after install it, top-end power will hopefully improve; power falls off fairly quickly above 4500 r/min. Overall, I would still recommend the Jackson Racing Supercharger to anyone with an SOHC Civic.

The Jackson Racing supercharger was a good investment for my car. It provides smooth linear power. I no longer need to downshift to pass slower vehicles. The quality is fantastic and it looks like it belongs in the engine bay. The kit will not give anyone 13 second time slips but it will provide a spirited sporty feel to any Focus enthusiast.

If you have an EK9 I have a package thatll give you about 230bhp for less than what the Jackson supercharger would cost. As for it melting your engine, Im surprised to hear that if it had stock internals as the cast steel pistons wont melt without some serious heat but can be over-expanded with extreme LEAN heat from bad tuning or fuel starvation for whatever reason.

i heard jacksonracing has problems with the supercharger leaking oil usually after a year or so and they end up being real assholes about getting them replaced. the supercharger itself loses the oil and the only way to fix it is to replace it …

Again not going into a complete tech detail, the Vortex kit would suffice for the project and it is Carb legal. For a detail tech review, I strongly suggest going to YouTube and search for the 4-parts review. The cost of this kit out the door was around $5,400. Jackson Racing Supercharger, this was the kit I ultimately ended up choosing.

Even though I never had a jackson, but a kraftwerks (for almost 3 years AND yes I tracked it), I will say supercharging is a waste of time. You can get more power out of less PSI on a turbo, and have a similar torque curve. You don't have to worry about belt slip, belt snap, supercharger unicorn oil, or any of these rotrex failures.

My 4500 mile road trip with a Jackson Racing C38 Supercharger. My overall experience with this kit has been 100% flawless throughout my whole trip handling extreme temps and humidity as well as flash flooding like I've never seen and constant 9 hour run times at highway speeds only to stop for gas. Didn't have any trouble finding 93 thankfully.
