    Busby had a brief single-seater spell in the ARS in 1986, before retiring. He became a team manager and oversaw a victory at the 1989 Daytona 24 Hours when John Andretti, Bob Wollek and Derek Bell won. Busby sold his team in 1990 and largely left the sport directly, although he has then competed in historic racing for some time.

    Jim also did a lot of sports car racing in the old IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) around 75 thru the 90s. I think the BMW 320i s that he raced were some of the neatest. 2 liter 4 valve engines with a big turbo and probably around 650 hp. They were fast but reliable like a nickel rocket.
