    In 1983 he started bracket racing a Kawasaki H1 that he purchased race ready. He raced it for a year or two before purchasing a ’86 Yamaha VMax. John slapped a Kerker header on it and started bracket racing. He said that was the coolest motorcycle. It was a wheelie monster and ate rear tires.
