And of course the most important thing: Save (quicksave preferably) before racing, then load. It's 100 per trial (first one can be free with Persuade) but winning only gives you 500; so it's most certainly not worth it if you can't win on the first try. Oh, and something I found out the hard way...don't forfeit before the race even starts.

The only thing I've ever gotten for winning swoop races is credits. No XP No items at all No subplots or missions (I though winning all the races on Onderon would have had some sort of interesting result. Press ENTER or MOUSE Button 1 once to activate thrusters, and move side-to-side using the A and D keys. Steer over the acceleration pads to receive speed boosts, and each time the shift indicator tops out, press ENTER or MOUSE Button 1 again to shift to more powerful thrusters. On the original XBox, I believe you could forfeit the race just before striking a wall. If done correctly, the clock will not stop, and the point where you hit the wall is listed as your final time. Regarding getting better at swoop racing, a recent trick I found in the original KOTOR is that you go faster without hitting the final engine shift.
