If ray tracing is important to you use a Windows partition. Linux also doesn’t support DLSS which is an even bigger issue tbh. Linux 100% supports DLSS in the proprietary Nvidia driver. It's just that it's not working in vkd3d-proton yet. DLSS in the nvidia driver since 450.57, we're on 465 now.

Real-Time Ray Tracing | Unreal Engine Documentation

    https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-US/RenderingAndGraphics/RayTracing/index.html
Real-Time Ray Tracing Features Ray Traced Shadows Ray Traced Shadows simulate soft area lighting effects for objects in the environment. This means that based on the light's source size or source angle, an object's shadow will have sharper shadows near the contact surface than farther away where it softens and widens. Introduction to Real-Time Ray Tracing with Vulkan

    https://developer.nvidia.com/blog/vulkan-raytracing/
Vulkan enables developers to target many different platforms, including Windows and Linux, allowing for broader distribution of 3D-accelerated applications. NVIDIA’s 411.63 driver release now enables an experimental Vulkan extension that exposes NVIDIA’s RTX technology for real-time ray tracing through the Vulkan API.

POV-Ray: Beta: Real-Time Raytracing

    http://www.povray.org/beta/rtr/
The real-time raytracing feature is activated via the Real_Time_Raytracing INI option or the +rtr command-line option. Internally, this causes POV to turn off file output and render the selected scene multiple times.

c++ - Real time ray tracer - Stack Overflow

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10768034/real-time-ray-tracer
I would like to make a basic real time CPU ray tracer in C++ (mainly for learning proposes). This tutorial was great for making a basic ray tracer. ... There are other solutions as well: DirectX, Allegro, XNA -- these might be faster, but you do need special setup. Ray tracing caclulations are usually pretty slow, so I don't think a fast ...

glsl - How to do ray tracing in modern OpenGL? - Stack …

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3667218/how-to-do-ray-tracing-in-modern-opengl
As for 2019 Ray tracing is an option for real time rendering but requires high end GPUs most users don't have. Some of these GPUs are designed specifically for Ray tracing. OpenGL currently does not support hardware boosted Ray tracing. DirectX 12 on windows does have support for it.

Unity real-time ray tracing for high fidelity reflections

    https://unity.com/ray-tracing
Unity’s real-time Ray Tracing realistically simulates how light behaves and interacts with physical objects and materials in your scenes. This technological advance enables true global illumination (GI) and ambient occlusion, as well as other effects, whether you want to achieve a photorealistic or stylized look.
