    So, I'm making a mandocello. I'm carving the top out of cedar (just started carving!). I've gone back and forth on the top bracing. Originally I was thinking two transverse braces, then started getting worried about top strength. I've read pretty much every bracing thread I could find searching here. So now I'm thinking something closer to X bracing.
