If you’re referring to the width of the stock, Martin typically uses 5/16” stock on larger guitars and 1/4” stock on smaller. Notable exception is the 1/4” stock used on the D-35, which is the primary factor in differentiating it’s voice from, say, the D-28, which has the 5/16” bracing typical for a dread. Anyway, the bracing size is listed on the specs page for each model on the Martin web …

Good point re: 1/4" and 5/16" bracing - that 1927 could be braced for either gut or steel strings - any labeling? Martin transitioned from gut to steel strings in the 1920's, so they beefed up construction with mods to bracing dimensions and shape, thicker tops, etc.

My impression of Martin construction is not one of making wider and lower braces, just wider 1/4" or 5/16" respectively or 3/8" in the case of 12 strings. The 5/16" X brace and tone bar construction is a bit more robust in general which I think is the practical take away from this data.
