    Of all of our moto-skis, this is the most original and perhaps the nicest one of the bunch. Last registered in 1973 it only has 406 miles and sat under its original cover in heated storage for most of its years. This Grand Prix has the SA340SS Sachs engine option which is the only non racing Moto-Ski to offer Sachs power.

    The Moto-Ski Capri was a two-passenger sled that was available with single and twin cylinder two-stroke engines of 292 to 440 cc (17.8 to 26.9 cu in) displacement and rated up to 35 horsepower (26 kW). The Capri had a top speed of 40 to 45 mph (64 to 72 km/h).

    Moto-Ski also had a 435cc BSE racer motor that was made in Japan. Likewise, the company still used Hirth motors a 649cc twin Red Baron, and the 793cc triple Honker. All the motors were free air cooling. With the motor in front of the tunnel and placed down low it created a very low sled with a height to the top of the windshield of only 29 inches.

    Borrowing styling and engineering concepts from Moto-Ski’s pre-Bombardier Bullett oval racers, the F series was noticeably sleeker and wider, and had a lower center of gravity than the other Moto-Ski family sleds. Compared to the 1972 Zephyr 340 or 440 and the MS-18, the ‘F’ series was 7 inches shorter and the ski stance was 3 inches wider.

    The Moto-Ski Ultra Sonic fared less well than the Blizzard, but part of the reason was a broken limiter strap which forced the Bombardier sled from putting in four complete runs. So under Jesse’s direction, Tim put a megaphone on, swapped the Keihen carb to a Mikuni, and had the head cut down for more compression.
