The MX-Ray isn't a bad boat; it's a little skimpy in the reserve buoyancy department but they seem to be decent sailors and not exactly pokey. AFAIK it was one of the first singlehand sprit boats, and so the design did not have any benefit of previous examples to learn from... still came out pretty good...
