The George Pocock Memorial Rowing Center was built in 1994 by the George Pocock Rowing Foundation - a group of Seattle, Northwest, and National rowing enthusiasts - to honor the legacy of George Pocock by ensuring access to the formative, wonderful sport of rowing. The Center has evolved over the years with the growth of the sport and the city.

Every year, in early July, the entire community of the Pocock Rowing Center gathers to celebrate the legacy of George and Stanley Pocock. We race a ham'n'egger and share a meal. Athletes from 12 - 82 are represented in this tradition that affirms the idea of rowing as a lifelong sport, and that we are all stewards of 1PRC.
