Quarter Midget Racing debuted in Connecticut in the early 1950’s. David and Dennis Gada’s uncle Chris (also known as Pete) drove at one of the first Connecticut tracks, starting in 1955. The track was on the ball field at Veterans’ Memorial Field, on Pennsylvania Avenue in Niantic. There was also a track in Danbury in 1957.

Midgets” informally since 1950.

Quarter Midget track in Meriden, Connecticut. From that I went on to riding dirt bikes and quads and basically loved driving anything with a motor. In 2013 when I was 15 I participated in an Alumni race at Silver City after not being in a ¼ midget in 5 years. I came in 2nd and realized how much I missed oval racing on asphalt.
