It has a tendency to self-energize with engine RPM when there is no other clutch applied. It probably will spin the wheels in neutral also. This is not your problem. Several things can cause no reverse.

Remove the trans and redrill reverse feed to late syle or replace the rear governor support with an early style (rear pump) governor support. You have no reverse because the case has no oil feed to the rear piston with the support you are using.
