A rigid bike is not for me, but I am still in disbelief at Kirk FitzPatrick's ride at the Downieville XC in 2014. He rode a rigid single speed and finished in 2:13:17, to win the SS category. That is a seriously rough course and this mega-dude proved it is all about the rider. For reference, Levi Leipheimer won the Pro category with a time of 2:00:36.
