    80% RG65 - Auckland, NZ The new rig is finished, both sails have 180mm foot, the mast is 760mm 6mm carbon tube, booms are 5 and 6mm S/S knitting needles. The boat is quite fast but needs a fair bit of wind to really fly, the drifting conditions in AKL the last few good days aren't quite enough. I'll try to get some on water pix next week.

    Hi all, just finished a RG65 Racing sparrow. Balsa with 1 layer of 50g glass. Fin is 4 lamination's of 1/32 ply with 2 layers of 50g, rudder balsa with1 layer. Recessed rear deck with rudder servo sitting outside. Veneered deck and hatch. 2s 1000mAh lipo with UBEC to feed the Rx and rudder servo. Sail servo is a Corona DS339HV.

I have to say I am very impressed with the performance, the yacht is extremely well balanced with very little weather helm and goes like the clappers (Granted I have no comparison yet...) Mast height will be 760mm and bulb weight 370g. 2mm balsa planking, 1.5mm balsa deck.Fin and rudder from 4mm formica (switch board material). total weight is 650g.
