    I'm considering doing a first 50 Mile as the Dead Horse Ultra in Moab this November. Moab is at an elevation of 4,000', so while it's higher than Michigan, it's low enough that I shouldn't experience any altitude sickness. The 50 miles also has a reasonable total ascent of 4,500' or 90'/mile average ending back at the start.
