MS and Sony probably think that players don't have to struggle with graphic options. Players install and launch a game and directly have the best graphics and performances possible on their consoles. Just a guess, but I don't think that game studios and devs can do anything about that. Reactions:

Ray Tracing - DCS Wishlist - ED Forums

Posted June 6, 2021. Personally, I'm more interested in raycasting technology (which is kinda similar to raytracing) coming to our RADARs, as they're a better way of simulating clutter (this is actually what the AJS 37, F-14A/B, MiG-19P (?) and what the Mirage 2000C is planned to use, not sure about the MiG-21bis - apparently the RADAR had/was ...

Feedback Add ray tracing geometry/instance flag options in mesh renderer inspector. Currently Unity handle ray tracing geometry/instance flags by material setup internally, develop has no control over it. For example transparent... Real Time Raytracing - Forums - ED Forums

    https://forum.dcs.world/topic/186170-real-time-raytracing/
There is real time raytracing in DCS already, although not for graphics but for things like radar (especially ground mapping radar). Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit. DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing! Link to comment.

Ray tracing how? - Scripting Support - DevForum | Roblox

    https://devforum.roblox.com/t/ray-tracing-how/921533
I basically says a ray is defined for positive values of t, PointOnRay = origin+ (direction*t) Given this we can ignore t for now and define direciton as we know origin. Will basically just wrap our pixels position to a range of -0.5 to 0.5 then say that our direction is define as the unit vector of vector (pixel.x, pixel.y, 2).

Raytracing is worth the money. (Opinion) | AnandTech ...

Keep in mind that DLSS will not be supported on all games, and that Ray Tracing will add a large performance hit. That graph is without Ray Tracing in use. Ray Tracing now looks like a 1080P deal, which many people won't like. If RT only runs at 1080P, people are probably not going to use it much.

Guide to Ray Tracing with Reshade - ReShade Forum

    https://reshade.me/forum/shader-discussion/5450-guide-to-ray-tracing-with-reshade
Guide to Ray Tracing with Reshade was created by Duran.te. Thanks to our green-ish fellas from Nvidia, the "Holy Grail" of real time rendering, aka Ray Tracing, is now on everyone's lips. If, on one hand, it made some nerd's innermost dreams come true, on the other it brought a lot of confusion, skepticism and doubts to many other people.

Why does raytracing suck so much, is it ... - [H]ard|Forum

    https://hardforum.com/threads/why-does-raytracing-suck-so-much-is-it-because-of-nvidias-bad-hardware-implementation.1982557/
    3. Nvidia failure to implement ray tracing in software/gaming engines. 4. by the time ray tracing is used on most titles the hardware is already obsolete The last point is all Nvidia's fault it slow adaptation of their hardware means that they are responsible for software implementation (games).
