    In Bouchet's Cahier, the top thicknesses are given as as 1.5-1.7 mm on the treble side and 1.3-1.4 mm on the bass side. This predates the models without the "Bouchet bar". If my french is correct then the tops were domed and the the bracing was first sanded to the shape of the dome before glueing up.
