    With the 685 it will easily pull the same grades in 5th with the 16 tooth, so the 16 tooth is pretty much a permanent installation on mine. Mine loves to rev. It's very smooth (smoother than my other bike, a horizontally opposed twin that shakes like a dog shittin' tacks) and pretty much a hoot to keep above 4000 rpm.
