    Our second skiff Cul Mor was built in 2011 by school pupils directed by Topher, and was rowed in 2019 by club members over the 50 mile sea crossing from Stornoway to Ullapool. They raised over £30,000 for charity. If you would like to try out Coastal Rowing for yourself you will be very welcome at one of our regular evening or weekend sessions.

    Ullapool rows with shortish oars, 11 feet 2 inches I think. It seems proven that oars between say 12 and 15 feet are liable to cause bumping. With short oars you sit slightly off-centre on same side as your oar; above that length you sit opposite the oar port, so 16 feet is fine if you can actually lift an oar that weight.

    The venue for Skiffie Worlds 2022 has been decided by SASI to be held in Kortgene, The Netherlands from 27th June untill 2nd July.
