Take a ruff peice of sand paper probably 100grit, and rub the sides of your belt with it to ruff it it...that will make its hook up better. If your drags are 600-660ft it really helps to re-gear. In that distance you would want to have a 1.9 gear ratio for best results anyways. You can get that probably just by dropping 2 teeth on top?
