    Sydney 38s with masthead kites tend to do OK in IRC racing but are a little stranded between light and heavy displacement IRC boats of that era. Farr 40s and Cookson 12s are about 500kg lighter, King 40 and similar IRC leadmines are say 1500kg heavier. I'd imagine the fractional Sydney 38 rig is more tweakable than the masthead rig on the 41.
