    There is much more to this process than simply making all of the braces parabolic. A brace can be parabolic and still dampen the surface it's glued to if it is heavier than it needs to be. It is only when the strength of the brace balances the forces acting on it that it "disappears", and it takes many re-stringings, to slowly reach this balance.
